In today’s segment of the news, we have brought you some exciting information that will surely stir your fancy.
While we were busy living our lives, working, partying and doing all the things that we do, Facebook actually soft-launched an official desktop chat apps for Mac and PC. It will even have the feature of screen sharing as reported by TechCrunch. At present, the apps are only available through the collaboration of Facebook with software workplace that is very similar to Slack.

If we go by the report submitted by TechCrunch, the desktop chat app is designed to have a dashboard which will collect the user’s conversations and offer text search and also the sharing options for photos, voice clips, videos, GIFs and emojis. So, if you are a person who is very busy or gets distracted easily then you also have the feature of getting notifications that will pop up on the desktop thereby killing the chances of missing out on a message that was conveyed to you. The apps also provide its users with screen sharing where you can at full-screen or even a portion share only having a specific app.

Vanessa Chan who is the spokesperson from Facebook commented that “This was one of the most widely requested features by customers, so we built it,” she also added that “The desktop app is still in beta and being tested by Workplace customers who are providing feedback that we’ll use to improve the product before a wider rollout.”
