This error message “This App Can’t Run On Your PC” usually flashes on your Windows OS when you try to run some old or suspicious apps on your PC. Solution #1 Disable SmartScreen

The most obvious way to solve this problem will be to turn off the tool that screens and detects the malware softwares. SmartScreen is a tool of Windows 10 which does the same. Here is how you can disable the SmartScreen feature.

Step 1 – Press Window Key + S on your keyboard.

Step 2 – Enter ‘SmartScreen‘ in the search bar.

Step 3 – Go to Settings or Apps and Browser Control option that appears in the search section.

Step 4 – Once in the section, locate SmartScreen option.

Step 5 – Under it, you will see 3 options ‘Block‘, ‘Warn‘ and ‘Off‘. Select the Off option to disable SmartScreen.

Note – You will need to provide approval by the administrator in order to proceed.

Step 6 – At the User Account Control window, click Yes to continue.

Solution #2 New Administrator Account

It often happens that the error message ‘This App Can’t Run On Your PC’ is displayed not only while trying to open foreign apps but also while trying to open some basic Windows apps like Task Manager or Microsoft Edge. If this happens, it can be due to some problem with the user account that you use. In such a case, go for a new administrator account.

Here’s how you can create one:

Step 1 – Press Windows Key + I at the same time on your keyboard.

Step 2 – Select ‘Account‘.

Step 3 – Click Family & other people which appears on the left side.

Step 4 – Then scroll down to locate the section’ Other people‘ on the right side of the screen.

Step 5 – Click on the option ‘Add someone else to this PC‘.

Step 6 – Select I don’t have this person’s sign-in information, which appears on the bottom of the screen.

Step 7 – Select Add a user without a Microsoft account.

Step 8 – Fill out your personal information and then click Next.

Step 9 – Then select ‘Change Account Type‘.

Step 10 – Select Administrator option. Then click OK.

Solution #3 Install Right Version Of Programs

There are many times when your system is of 32-bit OS but you end up downloading and installing 64-bit compatible programs. Hence it is important to know your system specification (whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit) and download and install programs accordingly.

You can find out the version of OS in your PC by going to Control Panel. And you can find the details of the program you want to download by reading it in the Details section.

In case you have the wrong version of a program, you can uninstall the incompatible version and download the right one.

Solution #4 Enable Side-load Apps

There are times when the apps you want to use is not trusted by the system but is trusted by you. These apps are seen as malicious in the eyes of the Windows software. But you can make them an exception if you trust them. This can be done by sideloading the apps.

Step 1 – Press Windows Key + I at the same time on your keyboard.

Step 2 – Select ‘Update and Security‘.

Step 3 – Click ‘For Developers’ option that appears on the left side of the pane.

Step 4 – Click Sideload apps on the right side of the screen.

This will sideload the apps and then you will be able to use them.
